Silver grains in the Lone Star State.

A film photograph is built from grains of silver, crystals that go dark where the light lands. That's the science. The magic is what the grains hold: a moment that would have passed, kept still. At its essence, photography is dark, light, and the gray between.
A love of film came down to me from both sides of my family. I've had a camera in my hands almost as long as I could walk, and I never put it down. Lone Grain Studio is that love turned into sessions people can book.
I'm Sloane Scott, based in East Dallas, and I photograph people on location across DFW: families, couples, individuals, maternity, and pets, plus headshots for work. This is a one-person studio, so when you inquire, I'm the one who replies, and when you shoot, I'm the one behind the camera.
Sessions stay simple on purpose: good light, a spot that suits you, and no pressure in front of the camera. The photo I'm always chasing is the one where you look like yourself.
